Our Story
We are so thankful you stopped by our website to learn more about Greater Lafayette Fairytale Performers! GLFP got our start in the summer of 2021. Prior to working together, each of our founding members had worked in the industry in a variety of roles for multiple years. In an effort to formalize our work and allow us to serve our community better than ever before, Rosie came up with the idea to form a volunteer group, and Greater Lafayette Fairytale Performers was born.
We have had the privilege of serving our community at many events since our beginning, including: The City of Lafayette’s Stars and Stripes Parade, the Tippecanoe County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, Hunger Hike (benefitting Lafayette Urban Ministry, St. Tom’s, and Food Finders Food Bank), Boo at the Zoo at Columbian Park Zoo, Fall Festival at the Wellness Center, Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce’s A Very Merry Main Street Parade, and many more!
What we do
Greater Lafayette Fairytale Performers is a group of volunteers who attend community events as popular fairytale characters to create magical experiences for Lafayette, West Lafayette, and the surrounding communities. When the young (and young at heart!) interact with our performers, they are interacting with the princesses and heroes they know and love from the stories they have grown up with. We are available to be booked for events that serve the community, and specialize in events serving underserved groups. This includes (but is not limited to) events that are free and open to the public, events serving people who are disabled, events serving the LGBTQIA+ community, and much more.
Because we are a group of volunteers, our services are free to those who book us. We are also happy to participate in collaborations that serve reputable local charities. If you are a business owner and would like to partner with us, we are happy to do so if the collaboration supports a reputable local charity in some capacity (for example, a percentage of proceeds from your business going to the local food bank during the hours we are performing, etc.). GLFP can make magic for your event in many ways that are sure to create lasting memories for guests. Our performers can sing, read stories, lead games and activities, be available for meet and greets and photos, and much more. To learn more about booking us, and what kinds of magic are possible for your event, please reach out to us at glfpteam@gmail.com !
Why Choose Us?
There are many reasons to choose Greater Lafayette Fairytale Performers for your next event! Our performers are seasoned professionals, and we love creating magic for our community. You can rest assured that each performer is highly trained, and each interaction will be memorable and meaningful for guests. Additionally, GLFP is proud to specialize in creating magic for underserved communities. Many of our team members have extensive backgrounds in working alongside children with disabilities, medically fragile children, and children in the neurodivergent community. We believe firmly in the tenant “nothing about us without us”, and as a result, GLFP is proud to have members of the disability and neurodivergent communities on our team in leadership roles. Furthermore each GLFP team member is prepared to create magic for diverse communities. We believe a person’s background shouldn’t limit the magic they experience, and thus our team members are sensitive, inclusive, and flexible. Those who work with us can be confident that our team works from a place of compassion, extensive knowledge, and lived experience.
